Mothering Sunday

On Mothering Sunday, 11 March 2018, Sarah Crook, mother of baby George John Crook, was presented with a decorated baby crib in recognition of George’s status as the youngest baby in the fellowship.

George isn’t the only member of the family to receive the award, which is a long-standing tradition at Goodshaw Baptist Church.  The first recipient was Jack Pickup, great-grandfather of baby George.  It has also been passed on to Judith Crook (George’s grandma) and Matthew Crook (George’s dad), when each of them was the youngest in the fellowship.

The service was a celebration of mothers and all those lovely ladies who through their love and nurturing are 'mums' to many people in our fellowship.  Di Isherwood from Kay Street Baptist brought God's word to us at this lovely celebration and all the ladies in the congregation were given a small bunch of daffodils.
