Celebrating Teambuilders with a Family BBQ

After a fun-filled week at our Teambuilders Holiday Club, it was wonderful to welcome a fantastic turnout of children and their families to our Family BBQ at Goodshaw Baptist Church.

The evening provided a great opportunity for families to relax together, enjoy good food and continue the friendships and conversations that had begun during the Holiday Club. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with children, parents, carers and volunteers enjoying time together outdoors.

Families enjoyed food from the barbecue, fresh fruit, teas, coffees, soft drinks and plenty of treats. There were outdoor games to enjoy, temporary tattoos for the children and a fire pit where families gathered to toast marshmallows and make delicious s’mores.

One of the highlights of the evening was seeing the children proudly sharing the colourful Joseph’s coats they had created during the week. There was lots of laughter as children tried on their coats and showed them to family members. The fun continued when several of our adult volunteers joined in and tried on the coats too! The children’s faces lit up as they saw their creations being modelled by the leaders, creating some wonderful photo opportunities and plenty of smiles all round.

The photographs show some of our volunteers enthusiastically modelling the colourful creations. The coats reflected the creativity, effort and imagination that the children had poured into their craft work throughout the week.

The Family BBQ was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of Teambuilders 2026 and to continue building relationships with families in our community. We are grateful to everyone who came along and helped make the evening such an enjoyable occasion.

A huge thank you goes to all those who helped organise, prepare, cook, serve and clear away. Their hard work and generosity helped create an event where families could feel welcomed, valued and part of the Goodshaw Baptist Church family.

We look forward to welcoming families to future events and continuing the friendships made through Teambuilders and other activities throughout the year.
